FLOW! Conscious Events
Peninsula, South Bay & San Francisco Bay Area
Real connection. Real community. In person
FLOW! Conscious Events brings people together from across the Peninsula, South Bay, and San Francisco Bay Area for regular, intimate, in-person events and gatherings — spaces where people can drop in deeply with themselves and each other, and build the kind of real, lasting connections that make life meaningful. Events include FLOW! Conscious Dance, Circling® and authentic relating, live music, meditation, movie nights, and more. Most gatherings include a potluck and time to connect and get to know each other.
Something most of us don't talk about much: how hard it has become to find real community. Not followers or contacts or people you half-know from the internet, but actual friends. People you can be yourself around. A place where you genuinely belong.
FLOW! Conscious Events started because of what so many have noticed: that since COVID, the in-person communities, classes, and gathering spaces that once brought people together became fewer, smaller, and more scattered, and many never fully came back. San Mateo County put it in official terms when it became the first county in the United States to declare loneliness a public health emergency in 2024, citing that nearly half of Peninsula residents are experiencing isolation and loneliness.
This is a small, earnest answer to that. A place to show up as you are. To move, connect, listen, share a meal, and remember what it feels like to be part of something.
Every event is designed for depth, for the kind of authentic connection that goes beneath the surface. Lasting friendships grow from that naturally.

“There are many costs to modern society... but the most dangerous loss may be to community.” — Sebastian Junger
"Social connection is as essential to humanity as food, water, or shelter." — Dr. Vivek Murthy, U.S. Surgeon General '23

Our Offerings
FLOW! Conscious Dance
FLOW! Conscious Dance invites you to express yourself freely, authentically, and completely in each moment. There are no steps to learn — you can't get it wrong. Your whole being is welcomed and honored. You're free to turn inward, following your body, your sensations, your emotions, and whatever arises — or to consciously engage and connect with others. It's a space where you, the dance, and the other dancers become one constantly evolving, interconnected creative FLOW! DJ Dave Hurwit weaves together music from across genres, tempos, rhythms, and intensities — orchestrated with dynamic lighting to carry you through an immersive, engaging, and transformative journey. The dance moves through two cycles, each beginning slowly, building in energy and intensity, then gently returning to a quiet center. Occasional light facilitation may be offered — participation is always optional. Each dance closes with a sharing circle — a moment to speak to what arose, what moved through you, or simply to be heard. Announcements of upcoming events and community offerings follow. We dance barefoot whenever possible; indoor shoes are welcome when required for medical reasons. The dance floor is a space of movement and presence, free from conversation. A separate area is always available for talking, connecting, and sharing food.
Circling & Authentic Relating
These gatherings draw from a family of related practices — Authentic Relating, Circling® (The Circling Institute), and Getting Real™ Honesty Salons (Susan Campbell) — sharing the same core intention: to create space for honest, present, deeply human connection. Rather than talking about life, we practice being in it together — sharing what is actually true in this moment, listening deeply, and meeting each other beneath the surface. The result is the kind of connection most of us quietly crave and rarely find.
Other Offerings
FLOW! Conscious Events will also offer a growing range of other gatherings — meditation, live music, movie nights, in-person pods for online workshops and classes, and more. Each offering is different in form but the same in intention — to create space for genuine connection, shared experience, and the kind of community that is getting harder to find. Many include a potluck, because some of the best conversations happen over a shared meal.
